No one messes with Kim Kardashian's husband, not even Taylor Swift - Stuff.co.nz

Swift, 26, has taken on the likes of Katy Perry, Harry Styles and Calvin Harris in the past but she has met her match in reality TV queen Kim Kardashian West, 35, and her plethora of siblings, who united on social media to show the singer they are... Prime instigator Kardashian West set social media on fire when she leaked a recorded conversation between Kanye West, 39, and Swift that appears to show they discussed, and Swift partially approved, the now infamous line in his song Famous: "I... In a drama worthy of a courtroom, the video appeared to show Swift was dishonest about her initial claims that she did not give West consent for the lyric. However, Kardashian West's video also shows that Swift was not made aware of the reference "that b****". So Swift's army of spin doctors are furiously trotting out that line, in a bid to regain the moral high ground and maintain the singer's... Swift responded with a lengthy message on Twitter: "That moment when Kanye West secretly records your phone call, then Kim posts it on the internet. Swift, who is currently holed up in the Gold Coast with her new British boyfriend Tom Hiddleston, 35, added: "Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me 'that b****' in his song. "While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot 'approve' a song you haven't heard. "Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination. But the damage to Swift's reputation seems to have been done. The hashtag "Kim Exposed Taylor Party" started to trend worldwide on Twitter, while Kardashian West also made a not-so-thinly-veiled jibe about Swift being dishonest. They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days," she wrote, alongside a number of green snake emojis. She also urged her followers to go straight to her social media accounts, so as not to miss the drama. Some followers told Kardashian West she should join the FBI, while another added: "I can't believe Kim Kardashian just won the Pulitzer Prize for investigative journalism. A number of people also came out in support of Swift including her BFF Selena Gomez, 23, and actor Chloe Moretz, 19, who also happens to be dating David and Victoria Beckham's oldest son, Brooklyn, 17. "Everyone in this industry needs to get their... Kardashian West's younger sister Khloe took the slight personally and shared a revenge porn picture of Moretz, whose bikini bottoms were pulled to one side, for all her 21. 2 million followers to see. Moretz claims the picture is not of her, while a number of followers have urged the Kardashian sister to remove it. Khloe earlier asked Swift fans not to "kill" her, and added a note of warning to Shake it Off singer: "Kim is a savage. This feud has been simmering away since February when West (who had kissed and made up with Swift following their 2009 VMAs battle released Famous at his album listening party in Madison Square Garden at New York Fashion Week . There was an uproar on social media about the lyrics referencing the Tennessee singer, but West took to Twitter to say he had approved them with Swift prior to release.

Arrests after chase as stolen car ditched - Stuff.co.nz

A driver in a stolen car has led police on a chase through the northern suburbs of Wellington. Some witnesses reported seeing 12 or more police cars driving at speed through the streets of Newlands, heading for Woodridge, late on Monday afternoon. Two people, both young males, were arrested and taken away in police cars about 5pm. Witnesses spoke of a "slow-speed chase" from Porirua, where the white Skoda was stolen, along the motorway to Johnsonville, with more and more police cars joining... "His car was driving on the rim, as his front tyre was missing. "As he turned before Churton Park his tyre rim hit the ground, exploding the rim, sending chunks of metal into the air, hitting my car and causing minor damage. "He took the Churton Park off-ramp, but then rejoined the highway. As we turned, there were police on the side of highway getting their weapons from the boot of the car. Shontelle Tulepu and friend Christine Plowright were Pokemon hunting in Woodridge when the Skoda drove past. She said two boys were in the car, and one flashed a gang sign at her. "Then we saw they ditched the car. One of the young men "legged it" into the suburban neighbourhood of quiet cul-de-sacs and new subdivisions. The car was ditched at the roundabout where Cedarwood St meets Woodridge Dr, as bemused locals looked on. "I saw a cop running flat-out up the street and I think I could see a guy in front of him," Tom Cranney said. The owner of the Skoda confirmed on Monday night that it had been stolen in Porirua. Police said they first responded to reports of the stolen car about 3. 30pm. It was followed for a short time to Woodridge, where it was stopped. The passenger of the car was detained while police searched for the driver, a spokeswoman said. After some inquiries in the Woodridge area, the driver was caught, and both passenger and driver were helping with inquiries. Witness Catherine Bindon said police handled the incident "methodically" and with professionalism. A group of locals, some returning home from work, waited near the roundabout before the police operation started wrapping up. One man walking his dog waited nearby. He wouldn't take his dog further, saying it would confuse police dogs in the area hunting for the offenders. The Skoda had two infant seats in the back. Its front left tyre was wrecked and it was towed away about 5. 20pm. Construction workers at a new subdivision heard all hell break loose about 4pm, with one saying the police cars "looped" round several streets pursuing the Skoda. Another wrote that police were chasing a white car, which was "sparking out the bottom of it like something's dragging on the road".

Three dead after crash on Desert Road - Stuff.co.nz

Three people died and a driver was left critically injured after a horror smash on an icy Desert Road in the central North Island. Police say the trio died at the scene after a car crossed the centre line and collided with a truck in icy conditions on Monday morning. Another man is fighting for life in Waikato Hospital after the crash, which has closed the main highway through the central North Island. State Highway 1, between Turangi and Waiouru, remained closed at 12. 30pm with diversions expected to add 40 minutes to the journey. Police were called to the scene of the crash north of the Rangipo Intake Rd about 7. 30am. Taupo police Senior Sergeant Fane Troy said a car heading north crossed the centreline into the path of an oncoming southbound truck. Three passengers inside the car died at the scene, Troy said. The driver - a man in his 20s - was flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition, a spokesperson for Taupo's Greenlea Rescue helicopter said. "Conditions are treacherous with patches of ice on the road. When emergency services arrived on the scene it was very cold with snowing falling. "The Desert Road is notorious for changing conditions and drivers should take extreme caution in the area. You can have good weather on one side of the hill and ice and snow on the other side. A witness at the scene, who asked not to be named, said the car looked "completely wrecked". It appeared the car had skidded in icy conditions, crashing backwards into the truck, he said. He said the road was "incredibly slippery" and light snow was still falling. Northern Fire Communications shift manager Megan Ruru said brigades from Turangi and Waiouru attended the scene. Looking at NZTA webcams, Metservice meterologist Peter Little said it appeared a couple of centimetres of snow had fallen across the Desert Rd area overnight. "There is still a little bit of snow happening at the moment," he said at 9. 15am. . Temperatures were about 0 degrees Celsius. "Any snow is going to make it slippery, and with those temperatures the snow could have melted to form ice as well," Little said. Meanwhile across the Central Plateau, police said icy roads had caused havoc. "There have been several minor crashes across the region already this morning as motorists make their way to and from work," police said in a statement. "Police advise driving conditions across the region could remain hazardous for the next 24 hours, and are urging motorists to take extra care on the roads. "Police ask drivers to assess their local conditions, and if the roads are icy, try to avoid non-essential travel. Bay of Plenty police said it had received reports of ice across the wider Taupo district. "Not only the Desert Road but also Napier Taupo Road. Roadings crews are spreading grit now but please take care if driving through the central plateau this morning," police posted.
